15th June’17

The arrival days are always the hectic ones. You reach after a long journey, try to check in to your hotel, but the time is not right yet! You want to go have breakfast, and that’s when the trip of the place begins 🙂

We arrived at a rainy-welcome Goa, after an overnight bus journey, at 9 AM, but the hotel said they’ll allow us in only at 12 PM. We thought against ourselves and walked with our backpacks, to search for a good place to eat breakfast!

Life saver Zomato (where would we go without you :)) – we hit this one place, which said they were open. After a long walk, we rest ourselves for a while, hungry and tired as hell of course, and ask for the menu. I notice the waiter talking to the manager and there was some fuss stating “tell them there is no menu”. He comes back and tries to tell that to us, to which I asked “How to we know the rates?”. Then the manager comes and tells, the menus were being changed (while I notice a pile of them lying near their billing area). We said okay and just walked out!

So, always be prepared to be fooled by the local people, who think they can play around with any tourist (even you)! Constant vigilance! Well, that’s that. Moving on, was the good rest of the day (and the remainder of the vacation). We finally went to Angaara of Hotel Silver Sands Sunshine for our breakfast! That was a nice enough place, with good (of course pricey) breakfast to eat!

Post this, we went back to our hotel and waited for a short while for the check-in. Surprisingly, the receptionist gave us an upgraded room for the same price, as the room type we had booked, was not available. Well, the upgraded room was pretty small, so we wondered how much smaller the booked room type would’ve been (can’t complain) :p

What’s next! Freshen up, get ready, and head out for some close-by explorations… headed straight for the Calangute Beach, but because of the heavy shower, we took shelter at a nearby shack.

Followed by some Tea and snacks and more beer…

Later, we headed for lunch, then snack and finally, a jazz-full dinner.
